Australian political party positions and the Paris Agreement: an overview

This briefing note evaluates how political party positions in the 2019 Australian Federal election match against the needs and requirements of the Paris agreement.

The table below shows the emissions reduction targets put forward by the Liberal National Party Coalition (LNP), the ALP and the Greens. Targets are nearly always put forward at present with respect to greenhouse gas emissions including land-use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF) and with respect to a base year of 2005.
