Climate hotspots: key vulnerable regions, climate change and limits to warming

The papers in this special issue of Regional Environmental Change address the question of what may be dangerous levels of climate change: the papers describe and analyse the vulnerability of human and natural systems in a number of regions around the world. The question of what is dangerous clearly relates to values and judgements about risk, and so is not a purely scientific one according to a widespread view of science.
