Paddy Pringle

Paddy is an experienced climate risk and adaptation specialist supporting our adaptation and loss and damage work with Pacific Island Countries.

Paddy has worked on a wide range of adaptation projects including the development of adaptation plans, climate change risk assessments and scenario planning, as well as providing UNFCCC negotiations support to SIDS on adaptation issues. He has published extensively on Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning (MEL) of adaptation and was lead author on an IISD/Adaptation Committee toolkit for MEL for NAP processes. His recent loss and damage experience includes leading the co-design of four innovative loss and damage projects in the Pacific on behalf of the government of New Zealand.

Now based in Christchurch, New Zealand, Paddy previously lived in Samoa while leading the Pacific component of the IMPACT project. His roles in Europe have included Director of the UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP) at the University of Oxford as well as delivering climate change projects for the European Environment Agency. He has also worked on climate change assignments in Africa, Asia and South America.
