Climate Science and Impacts

Dr. Mariam Saleh Khan is part of the Climate Science and Impacts team at Climate Analytics as an International Consultant. Her work focuses on climate impacts, climate risk assessment, adaptation, and loss and damage, with particular expertise in heat stress, climate attribution, and the integration of climate science into policy and development planning.


She has experience supporting international organizations and development partners in conducting climate risk and adaptation assessments, developing climate finance frameworks, and integrating adaptation and resilience considerations into infrastructure and policy planning. Her work includes climate data analysis, exposure and vulnerability assessments, and gender-responsive climate risk analysis. She also contributes to capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and the development of evidence-based tools to support climate-resilient decision-making.


Dr. Khan’s research focuses on climate change impacts and adaptation planning particularly related to heat stress, climate risks under warming and overshoot scenarios, and the application of climate modelling to support adaptation in urban settings. She has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed publications and contributes actively to science communication and knowledge dissemination to promote public awareness of climate change.


She holds a PhD in High Energy Physics from the University of Hamburg (DESY, Germany) and has a strong computational background in scientific modelling, programming, and data analysis.
