Jheuel is a Research Assistant at Climate Analytics working on adaptation and loss and damage within the Science Team.
Jheuel has five years of policy development and stakeholder engagement experience in the public sector in Trinidad and Tobago. She was also the first Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) Water Academy for Youth Ambassador, and GWP-C In-Country Youth IWRM Focal Point for Trinidad and Tobago. Her broader research interests reflect these influences, focusing on the intersection of science and policy, particularly in the areas of integrated water resources management, disaster risk management, and climate change adaptation.
She holds a BSc in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida and is currently completing her Master’s in Natural Resource and Environmental Management at The University of the West Indies. Her master’s thesis focuses on stakeholder engagement in the development of flood early warning systems, and she has conducted flood modelling in collaboration with McGill University through the Queen Elizabeth Scholars Program.
