Ghyzlene is a Lead Data Engineer in the Climate Policy Team, where she develops and maintains the data infrastructure for flagship projects including the Climate Action Tracker and the 1.5°C national pathway explorer. She works closely with data scientists and web developers to ensure seamless data processing and publication of climate analysis on project websites.

Before joining Climate Analytics, Ghyzlene worked as a Data Engineer at Thales for over five years, where she specialised in high-performance computing systems for space programs and defense applications. She led teams developing data management solutions with strong security focus, including a Python cartography application processing gigabytes of geospatial data. Her experience spans real-time data processing for major financial institutions, where she developed fraud detection algorithms and automated ETL systems handling millions of daily transactions.

Ghyzlene is also a Lead Machine Learning Engineer with Omdena, a non-profit organisation focused on “AI for good” initiatives. In this role, she has led international teams of engineers on United Nations challenges, including a winning project on preventing terrorism financing through machine learning. She has lectured at New York University on data mining and natural language processing for violence prevention, and has contributed to various humanitarian projects using AI for social impact.

Ghyzlene holds a Master’s degree in Business Informatics (MIAGE) from University Paris X Nanterre and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Toulouse School of Economics. She is fluent in French, English, Italian, Spanish, and Arabic.
