Adama is an Adaptation and Climate Risk Assessment Specialist in our Africa office. He has over 10 years of experience analysing climate risks and vulnerabilities in the agricultural sector, with a focus on designing, implementing, and evaluating climate change adaptation projects. He has a background in agronomy, crop modelling, and climate change adaptation strategies.

He first joined Climate Analytics as the PAS-PNA in-country expert for Senegal, where he led the climate vulnerability assessment of the agricultural sector. He later contributed to the IMPACT project, which aims to strengthen capacities in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

Adama holds a PhD in Agronomy and Paleoclimatology (specialising in crop distribution and modelling) from the University of Montpellier, France. Prior to joining Climate Analytics, he worked as a researcher at the Senegalese Institute of Agricultural Research (ISRA), focusing on agriculture and climate change adaptation, with an emphasis on implementing climate-smart agricultural practices in the Sahel region. His work on climate vulnerability assessments across different regions of Senegal has been instrumental in supporting the country’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process in the agricultural sector.
