Dircia Sarmento Belo

Dircia Sarmento Belo is a Climate Diplomacy Advisor at Climate Analytics supporting the Timor-Leste LDC Chairmanship. She holds an MSc in Environmental Leadership from the University of Galway and works at the intersection of climate policy, diplomacy, and community mobilisation, especially bridging youth voices with decision-makers.

Her professional experience spans government institutions, UN agencies, international and national organisations, and applied research, where she has contributed to climate adaptation, policy development, and capacity-building initiatives.

A recognised youth climate advocate, she has mobilised and mentored thousands of young people and co-founded three youth organisations, including Laudato Si’ Movement Timor-Leste. Outside work, she enjoys sharing inspirational content through her “dirciasjourney” Facebook page and YouTube channel, motivating and empowering young people to unlock their full potential.
