Demi Ursem is a Junior Research Assistant in Climate Diplomacy at Climate Analytics, based in the Netherlands, where she supports work with Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
Before joining Climate Analytics, Demi consulted for UNCTAD and UNDESA on equitable governance of critical resource minerals, including the use of AI in mineral exploration, and for the UNFCCC creating a climate information services database and policy recommendations for National Adaptation Plan integration in LDCs. She has also served as the COP30 academic representative, PhD research assistant, and chair of international affairs at Youth for Climate Netherlands.
Demi is completing MSc degrees in Environmental Policy and Earth Surface Dynamics at Wageningen University & Research, alongside an MSc in Governance of Crisis at Leiden University. Her research focuses on the use of remote sensing and modelling to examine the intersections of environmental justice, climate disasters, and humanitarian crises.
