Implementation Strategies

Amen Etsri is a Senior Project Manager at the Africa Office in Lomé, Togo. With over a decade of experience at the intersection of climate finance mobilization, project development, and operational management, he manages the full project lifecycle — from development and design through implementation and closure — coordinating fundraising efforts, overseeing day-to-day operations, and managing funder contracts and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful project completion and identify opportunities for follow-on projects.
Prior to rejoining Climate Analytics, Amen Etsri contributed to several climate finance initiatives and projects — spanning climate-resilient infrastructure, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and affordable eco-housing across African countries — supporting the mobilization of over USD 350 million from the Green Climate Fund, the Adaptation Fund, the European Commission, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Open Society Foundations. He has led the development of GCF Readiness proposals and concept notes for countries including the Central African Republic and Guinea-Bissau, delivered capacity-building workshops for national actors — including government institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations — on climate finance access, and produced a comprehensive guide on bankable climate adaptation project design, a resource intended to serve practitioners across francophone Africa.
Amen Etsri is a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow (Fulbright 2024–2025), having studied financial management, investment analysis, and sustainable finance at Boston University's Questrom School of Business. He also holds a Master's degree in International Management (Ecole Supérieure de Gestion d'Informatique et des Sciences) and certifications in Climate and Renewable Energy Finance (Frankfurt School of Finance and Management) and Financial Modelling (Institut des Finances d'Entreprise).
Beyond his professional work, Amen Etsri volunteers to support municipal actors in Togo on climate finance access and project management, reflecting his conviction that local governance is where climate action truly begins.
