High-Level support for LDCs and SIDS on climate change

The project design focuses on provision of materials and tools specifically tailored to support ministerial participation in climate related meetings requiring high-level engagement, strategic skill building activities as well as opportunities to convene in person in the form of workshops and institutionalisation within the organisations that serve the LDCs and SIDS.

Activities so far have included: workshops for SIDS ministers in the Caribbean and the Pacific, ministers of the LDC Group including one specifically for African francophone ministers. Written and oral briefings are regularly provided to ministers and high-level officials for the international climate policy negotiations and other relevant climate meetings and fora. A series of seminars for Permanent Representatives to the United Nations of SIDS and is organised in New York.
