Implementation Strategies

We assist particularly vulnerable developing countries in streamlining climate plans into national development strategies, hence improving effectiveness of implementation and fundability of their projects.

In order to assist developing countries particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, Climate Analytics assist in streamlining climate plans into national development strategies, hence improving effectiveness of implementation and fundability of such projects at regional and national level.

Our team involved in the implementation strategies has wide range of experience on facilitation of national and regional climate change processes, including capacity building activities targeted for government and other stakeholders.

Together with international partners, we conducted appraisal missions in Grenada and Mali and developed detailed project proposals in close cooperation with respective government officials and other stakeholders. The programs developed benefited from funding granted by the German government under its International Climate Initiative. Currently our team is involved in assisting a number of governments in preparing Intended Nationally Determined Contributions.

Publications

The stocktaking of science-based knowledge allowed on one hand to get a clear picture of the existing scientific knowledge on impacts, vulnerability, adaptation options and strategies available in Senegal for the three priority sectors. On the other hand, it allowed to identify the gaps for the availability and reliability of scientific information in each of these sectors. Based on the two stocktakings undertaken, it was possible to determine the additional information to be provided by the sectoral vulnerability studies.  

Projects

The EmBARK-project will investigate time scales and possible trajectories of socio-economic transformation processes and analyse their relevance as potential barriers to adaptation to climate change. An improved understanding of the temporal dynamics of such barriers is key in developing a more realistic understanding of future climate impacts and for scientifically robust assessment of future climate related loss and damage.
