Sofia Gonzales-Zuñiga

Sofia is a Senior Climate Policy Analyst in the Climate Policy Team. She is leading the Climate Action Tracker project to track government climate action against Paris Agreement goals.

Before joining Climate Analytics, Sofia worked on several climate change mitigation and sustainable development projects at NewClimate Institute where she focused on supporting governments and stakeholders to understand, set and meet ambitious climate goals. She is also the lead author of the SCAN tool developed to link climate action and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Before that, she worked at Libelula in Lima, Peru where she supported a flagship mitigation project which served as main input to Peru’s first NDC.

Sofia holds bachelor’s degree in biology from the National Agrarian University La Molina in Peru, and a Master of Science in Global Change Ecology from the University of Bayreuth in Germany.
