Kanwal Nayan Singh is part of the Global Science Team at Climate Analytics, working as a lead for Climate Services and Tools team based in Berlin.
Prior to his role at Climate Analytics, he was working as a Manager with the Cities and Transport team at WRI India. He has led multidisciplinary teams and worked on projects related to vulnerability assessments, transport planning, and hydrogen hub feasibility in India.
Kanwal was a Doctoral researcher at Potsdam-Institut für Klimafolgenforschung (PIK), working on the East Africa Peru India Climate Capacity (EPICC) project, which involved spatial data visualisations, portal development, field surveys, and workshops in three countries. He retains a Guest Scientist role at PIK. He has also previously worked at TERI, where he gained research experience in natural resource-based infrastructure, particularly in the urban environment, forestry, land use, and rural development.
Kanwal's background is mostly in Remote Sensing and GIS applications and data visualisation tools. He has led assignments in developing methods and applications for land use analysis, soil and water assessment, climate modeling, hotspot analyses, and urban environment indicators.
Kanwal pursued his master’s from TERI School of Advanced Studies in Geoinformatics and Bachelor's in Computer Applications complemented with a Diploma in Animation and Graphic Designing.
