Danial is a Senior Energy and Climate Policy Analyst in Climate Analytics' Berlin office, where his work involves developing tools and methods for tracking climate mitigation action and assessing fossil fuel phase-out requirements in Paris Agreement compatible pathways. He is leading the Climate Analytics' work for the Systems Change Lab project.
Over the last 10 years, Danial has worked predominantly in the Energy and Climate sector. Most recently he worked with CDP in Berlin developing their impact evaluation strategy and automating internal systems. Before this he was with the GIZ in Phnom Penh working closely with the UNFCCC towards introducing capacity building initiatives for emissions accounting, energy efficiency and waste water management for factories in the textile and garment sector. Danial also worked with Avon Energy in Bristol to assist UK based clients in sourcing carbon credits from the voluntary markets. In Pakistan, Danial worked with Reon Energy, on public-private partnerships developing techno-commercial feasibility studies for wind and solar EPC projects.
Danial holds a Master of Data Science for Public Policy and a Masters in Public Policy from the Hertie School of Governance, Berlin, where he focused on Energy Economics, Climate Policy and Energy Systems Modelling. He holds a bachelors degree in Economics and Philosophy from the London School of Economics, UK.
