Ann-Kathrin works in the Adaptation and Loss and Damage group of the Science Team, based in Berlin. As an Adaptation Pathway Researcher, she supports the SPARCCLE project in developing plausible sequences of adaptation decisions for different sectors in Europe.

Previously, Ann-Kathrin gained experience in climate change adaptation, climate risk management and loss and damage in the context of EU policy development and implementation, development cooperation, and research whilst working at the European Commission, EUCC-D, Deltares and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

Ann-Kathrin holds a BSc in Geosciences from the University of Bremen, German) and a MSc in Geography of Environmental Risk and Human Security from the University of Bonn and the United Nations University, Germany. In her studies, she focused on adaptation to climate change, in particular adaptation to sea level rise, and on nature-based solutions and natural hazards.
