Support for preparing Intended Nationally Determined Contributions

We assisted the governments of a number of vulnerable countries in their domestic preparation for the formulation of their intended nationally determined contributions (INDCs), in the context of the 2015 climate agreement. Based on their request we support these countries with their project conceptualisation and development, specific scientific and technical analysis, organisation and facilitation of the dialogue processes through expert support and facilitation of national consultations.

Type of work provided

• Technical support (analyses and studies) for inter-ministerial working groups and for processes that help line ministries to agree on specific emissions reduction targets,
• Assessing the financial and technical resources needed by these countries to implement their INDCs,
• Supporting political decision-making processes for the submission of INDCs and their implementation,
• Backing the dialogue process with multiple relevant stakeholders.
