Fiji’s presidency of COP23, the first ‘Islands COP,’ offers an opportunity for SIDS and other most vulnerable countries to put their concerns and ambitions at the forefront of the negotiations and in the implementation process. Climate Analytics and California Environmental Protection Agency are co-hosting a Climate Week event to showcase examples of progressive policies and projects that can help put the world on a 1.5°C pathway, in line with the Paris Agreement. The event is an opportunity to look at how sub-national actors - like cities, businesses or investors - can move forward with climate action despite current federal administration decisions. The event aims to contribute to the discussion about the opportunities for key stakeholders – business community, investors, industry, civil society and academia – to sustain the momentum from Paris and support sub-national climate action.
