Mahugnon Serge Djohy

Mahugnon Serge Djohy leads the implementation of the PAS-PNA+ project in Benin, Burkina Faso and Senegal. The project focuses on science-based national adaptation planning in francophone Sub-Sahara African Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

He is climate policy and finance consultant with expertise in the Economics of Climate Adaptation (ECA), developing climate finance proposals and Project Preparation Facilities (PPF) and mobilising resources for implementing adaptation and mitigation actions, risk mapping and assessment, as well as adaptation planning in Western African countries and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Before joining Climate Analytics, he coordinated a project aimed at strengthening capacities in Cape Verde for accessing Green Climate Fund (GCF) resource, and has participated in developing its first ever national climate investment plan.

He holds a master’s degree in Environment Management and International Relations from Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde and a master’s degree in International Economics and Finance from the University of Parakou in Benin. He is currently research fellow at the CCIAM (Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation and Modelling) research group at the University of Lisbon, conducting research on adaptation decision making dynamics amid uncertainties in Portuguese-Speaking SIDS.
