Job description

We are currently looking for a Student Assistant (15-20 hours/week) to join our Climate Policy Team to work on projects related to climate change mitigation, decarbonization policies, co-benefits and energy policy.

Your Tasks

  • You undertake research and review of climate, energy and industry policy relevant literature
  • You support the team with data collection and data analysis, including emissions projections, mitigation strategies, technology and demand changes, with a focus on energy system and industrial transformation and their contribution to climate mitigation
  • You contribute to drafting reports and other documents (briefings, presentations, etc.) and also in formatting and editing of briefings, reports and articles prepared by the team.
  • You also support the Climate Policy Team in the overall development of policy and analytical research and with administrative tasks (e.g. organization of meetings and workshops, set up calls).

Your profile

  • You are enrolled as a student in a climate related field at least until end summer semester 2020.
  • You have excellent analytical and quantitative skills as well as strong writing skills.
  • You have excellent knowledge of particularly Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications (mandatory).
  • Good knowledge of economics and energy policy issues and especially renewable energy would be an asset.
  • Knowledge in data analysis and statistics are an asset.
  • Our working language is English. Therefore, fluency in English is necessary. German is an asset, but not required. Other UN languages (especially French and Spanish) are an asset.
  • You are motivated and flexible and have an ability to work independently.
