Climate Action Tracker Update: Developed countries ambition stalled while developing countries gearing up to act

Emissions and CO2 concentrations at record highs – Developed countries ambition stalled while developing countries gearing up to act

Date16 June 2011

The Climate Action Tracker has been updated after the UNFCCC workshops held 9 to 10 June 2011 at the Bonn climate talks. The workshops see the emissions gap unchanged since Cancun. While emissions are at historic high, action is not. No developed country attempted to increase their reduction target as it was requested in the Cancun Agreements and in the mandate for the workshop held in Bonn. Developing countries reported at the workshops significant new planning activities to reduce emissions in the future.
