Rueanna is an experienced international lawyer supporting our Climate Diplomacy team in their work with Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
She was based at the Trinidad and Tobago mission to the United Nations in New York from 2010 until the end of June this year. In her roles there over the last 7 years, she was lead negotiator for Trinidad and Tobago, Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) and G77 on a number of different agenda items under the UNFCCC process. This has included playing a key role as a lead negotiator on the Periodic Review 2013-2015 and Structured Expert Dialogue.
Rueanna has been Head of Delegation for Trinidad and Tobago at UNFCCC negotiation sessions and has been a member of delegations on a number of related international negotiation processes of key importance to SIDS, including the Sustainable Development Goals, Financing for Development, Convention on the Law of the Sea and UN General Assembly sessions. She was also a member of the T&T delegation to the Third International Conference of SIDS in September 2014.
