Job description

We are currently seeking a Student Assistant – Finance Management (all genders) to support our international and diverse Finance Team to support the accounting function within our organization. If you are looking to help our teams behind the scenes to fight climate change through scientific research, this is the place for you!

Your tasks

  • You’ll work closely with your colleagues on the Finance team to support with employee expense reimbursements, monitoring Finance email inboxes, and filing electronic and paper records.
  • You help with review and reconciliation of bank account activity, as well as invoice processing and the completion of our monthly payment obligations.
  • In collaboration with the project managers and the finance team, you create overviews of outstanding and pending payments, and assist the follow-up of receivables.
  • You’ll support with data preparation for monthly financial statements, reports, and budgeting for projects.
  • You update our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System to ensure all teams have the needed information to carry out projects and process budgets and payments correctly.
  • You share your own ideas to improve processes in the Finance team.

Your profile

  • You are a student at least until March 2023, and ideally study economics, finance or a related field.
  • You have an eye for details and work very thoroughly and diligently.
  • You are able to work in stressful and time-constrained situations, work carefully and on schedule.
  • You have very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • You like to communicate empathetically and are culturally sensitive and diplomatic.
  • You learn quickly and are happy to contribute new ideas and optimize our processes.
  • Our working language is English, therefore excellent English writing and verbal skills are necessary.
  • It is an advantage if you already have first work experience in finance /accounting or similar.
