Climate Analytics is looking for a Communication Intern for its office in Lomé for a period of 3-6 months.

This job position is only open for local students in Togo.

You are a recent university graduate or a current student in your last semester of either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program looking for a practicum/internship to finalize your degree program in communication and/or climate or environmental-relateda fields.

Key Responsibilities

You will assist and get an insight at least in the following tasks:

  • Develop a broad communications strategy for the Lomé office
  • Manage content for the Lomé office’s social media platforms including Facebook
  • Translate content from French to English for release
  • Support feeding content on the website upon request
  • Assist with graphic design and copy-editing and formatting of documents/products as required
  • Support stakeholder communication and contact management.
  • Liaise with Climate Analytics Communication team for events planning and activities development
  • Support in the planning and organization of events for the CA Lomé
  • Support administering of surveys aimed to inform activities, as well as support in the compilation and analysis of results
  • Support desk research, and review of relevant literature to inform content and materials development.
  • Carry out any other specific tasks assigned to support CA’s overall activities

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s level student or senior-level Bachelor’s candidate or a recent graduate with a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in communication or climate- or environment-related fields.
  • Fluency in both French and English (translation level proficiency)
  • Interest in and basic knowledge of communication techniques including graphic design and associated tools
  • Interest in and basic knowledge of social media environment and digital communication techniques and tools
  • Excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).
  • Command of citation managers such as Zotero, Mendeley is desirable.
  • Analytical and report writing skills are desirable.
  • Motivated, flexible, and the ability to work independently as well as in teams.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Work experience in the climate or environmental field is a plus.
