Spencer Thomas, Ph.D., of Charles and Associates, is Grenada’s Ambassador and Special Envoy for Multilateral Environmental Agreements and the country’s lead negotiator for climate change and biodiversity. He has over 25 years of experience in international environmental diplomacy.
Dr Thomas is currently a member of the Executive Board of the Clean Development Mechanism and a member of the Advisory Board of the Climate Technology Center and Network.
He was a lead Negotiator for the Alliance of Small Island States during the period of Grenada’s chairmanship of that body from 2007 to 2011. He has served in other capacities in the UNFCCC including as Co- Facilitator for the Local Community and Indigenous Peoples Platform in 2017. Dr Thomas has conducted a range of consultancies, nationally and regionally, in the area of Climate Change since 1996.
