Pravakar is currently working as an Energy System Modeller, based in Perth, Australia. He has a keen interest and specialises in energy system modelling, power system stability, power system restoration, renewable energy, and electric vehicles.
Previous he worked in the Electrical Engineering Department at the College of Science and Technology, Phuentsholing, Bhutan, as Head of Department and has also served as Coordinator and Head of the Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Energy Development.
He has received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Science and Technology (CST), Phuentsholing, Bhutan in 2008, and the Master of Engineering: Energy from KU Leuven, Belgium in 2014. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree with the Smart Energy Systems Group, Edith Cowan University, Joondalup, WA, Australia. He is a recipient of the Endeavour Executive Fellowship (2016) and the Indian Science and Research Fellowship (2018).
