Nicole van Maanen

Nicole supports the IMPACT and the NAVIGATE projects with her expertise on climate change adaptation. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Geography at Humboldt University Berlin, where she aims to establish scenarios for sectoral adaptive capacity in the water, agriculture, energy and health sectors.

Prior to joining Climate Analytics in 2019, she wrote her master’s thesis with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) on interactions between different planetary boundaries. Nicole has also interned at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Administration and Organisation and a Master of Science in Climate Studies from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
