Koffi Koumassi

Koffi Koumassi joined Climate Analytics’ Lomé office as Junior Implementation Specialist in October 2019. He works in the Implementation Strategies Team (IST) globally, focusing especially on West Africa. In this position, he provides analytical research on adaptation and mitigation related issues and climate finance. He also supports the technical, organisational and administrative aspects of project development and management.

Before joining Climate Analytics, Koffi served as coordinator of several UN-funded projects in Togo in the fields of water, sanitation and hygiene, women rights, and children’s well-being from 2015 to 2017 in a number of NGOs. Through these professional experiences, he has developed strong skills in project management such as conception/design, planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.

In 2018, as part of his master’s degree in Environmental Management, he conducted research on the impacts of climate change on the coastal areas of Togo during his internship at the High Council for the Sea and the National Directorate of Environment, part of the Togolese Ministry of Environment. During the internship, he supported the designing of the Togolese government’s plan to reduce emissions of airborne and climate pollutants, as well as the Fourth National Communication (4th NatCom) and the Second Biennial Update Report (2BUR). He also worked on the monitoring and evaluation of the project “Sustainable and low-emission transport” and assisted the Green Climate Fund (GCF) national committee with its workshop for stakeholders of the Regional Off-Grid Electrification Project (ROGEP).

Koffi holds two master’s degrees, the first in Public Law from University of Lomé in Togo in 2015 and the second in Environmental Management in 2019 from University of Senghor at Alexandria (USA) in Egypt with a focus on marine and coastal environment protection.
