Job Description

Climate Analytics is currently looking for a Student Assistant to join its Climate Policy Team to work on the Climate Action Tracker (climateactiontracker.org), as well as on other projects (e.g. policy-related projections of emission curves and time-series).

Your tasks include

  • Data collection and data analysis. Knowledge in data analysis and basic statistics desired
  • Quantitative assessment of climate policy related measures
  • Structured literature research and review. Prior knowledge of climate-policy relevant literature is desired
  • Contribution to writing reports and briefing papers
  • Proof reading, editing and layout of briefings, reports and articles prepared by the team
  • Basic website content management
  • Basic administrative support activities (travel arrangements, meeting organisation, etc.)

Your Profile

  • Enrolled as a student at least until May 2018
  • Academic background in climate policy related field (good knowledge of energy policy issues desired)
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills as well as strong writing skills
  • Interest in climate science (social and/or natural sciences)
  • Motivated, flexible, ability to work independently, good communication skills
  • Working language is English, other UN languages are an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of particularly Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications is mandatory
  • Knowledge of a data analysis software (Matlab, R) is an asset
