Mouhamed is a Climate scientist based at Climate Analtyics’ Lomé office, where he supports the implementation of the IMPACT project in the West African region. His work includes the coordination of the overall development of scientific capacity and science-based approaches through science network and relevant skills transfer activities in partner institutions in the region.

Prior to joining Climate Analytics, Mouhamed worked at the AGRHYMET Regional Centre, which is part of the Permanent Inter-State Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) He conducted research in Climate applied to agriculture and hydrology in West African countries and played a coordinating role in the climate modeling activities as part of climate change impacts on West African Agriculture (CIWARA), the West African team of the Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project (AgMIP). He has extensive experience in the detection and attribution of anthropogenic climate change at regional scale for mitigation and adaptation strategies and has published and co-authored several peer-reviewed papers focused the analysis of extreme climate events related to the impacts on agriculture and hydrology over the West African region. He has also worked on the development of an early warning system for the West African area to create climate forecasts tailored to inform communities on climate related risks and hazards. In addition to this, he has been involved in training activities, presenting research on climate impacts at several regional and international workshops.

Mouhamed hold his PhD at the Pierre Marie Curie University (Paris, France) and a Master degree at the Polytechnic High School at Cheikh Anta Diop University (Senegal) in environmental sciences. He has expertise in model to satellite application and climate monitoring which he has acquired in several international projects such as the African Monsoon Multidisciplinary Analysis (AMMA) and research initiatives such as the Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA).
